  • 1943
    1943Hello, Highland Park

    As signs of a post-war population boom began springing up across Saint Paul, our founders raised the iconic sign outside our first branch, marking the bank’s charter.

  • 1973
    1973New Era, New Name

    Wide ties, wide lapels and platform shoes changed the way we got up, dressed up and showed up, and we changed our name to Mid America State Bank of Highland Park.

  • 1981
    1981 Meet “The Highland Bank”

    Local real estate developer Fred Wall bought the bank, ushering in a decade of giving new life to office parks, mobile home parks and places to park your money.

  • 1984
    1984 Hello, Bloomington

    As the city grew, the bank did too. By the mid-80s, Mid America State Bank of Highland Park had a new branch to serve the homeowners and businesses of Bloomington.

  • 1990
    1990Meet Security Bank

    Fred Wall added a new branch in Maple Grove after acquiring Security State Bank of St. Michael, then gave us yet another new name: Security Bank Northwest.

  • 1995
    1995 Goodbye “The”

    Hello, Highland Bank. With offices in St. Michael and Maple Grove, Security Bank Northwest merges with The Highland, and Fred Wall changes the name for the third and last time.

  • 2004
    2004 Small Business Focus

    By the mid-2000s, Highland Bank had established itself as a business bank, officially qualifying for preferred SBA lender status.

  • 2008
    2008 Expanding Our Footprint

    Highland Bank merged with Ridgedale State Bank, adding $100 million in assets and two new locations.

  • 2023
    2023 Rising Above the Bar

    Highland Bank acquired Boundary Waters Bank, adding branches in Woodbury, Blaine and Ely and advancing our mission to rise above the bar for our customers.
