It doesn’t take long to discover that Eric is all about people. His interest in making connections and his insatiable curiosity brought him to banking over 30 years ago and continues to play a significant role in his chosen career. It wasn’t always so clear. Eric finished college at the University of St. Thomas with a degree in marketing and decided to get some “suit and tie” experience, landing his first job at a local community bank. He never left the industry.
What Eric learned early on is that the connection he made with bank customers naturally led to an advisory relationship rooted in trust. Eric started his career in consumer banking, assisting with deposits and consumer loans, and grew into a management role at several community banks. His success there and deep understanding of the banking products positioned Eric ideally for his current role in small business lending.
Eric joined Highland Bank in 2021 as a Small Business Banker. Bringing a marketing mindset, an infectious personality, and a strong background in community banking, Eric is perfectly suited to help small businesses flourish. In addition to being a valued resource for Highland Bank’s customers, Eric now serves as president of the Bloomington-chartered Metro Elite Accountability Network Team (MEANT) and is a long-standing member of the Prior Lake Chamber of Commerce. Through these organizations, he continues to stay in tune with business owners and develop timely connections through his networks.
Outside of work, Eric is newly married and enjoys time with his wife and two stepdaughters. With his own daughters now grown, he finds even more time to hit the links, cheer on his beloved Vikings, and travel. Always on the go, Eric continues to meet new people and find fun in new challenges every day.
