Kim is a highly regarded professional in Small Business Administration (SBA) Lending, boasting over three decades of experience facilitating essential financing for business owners looking to launch or expand their enterprises. Her tenure has been marked by pivotal achievements, including securing and maintaining Highland Bank’s esteemed “Preferred Lender Status.” This designation empowers the bank with expedited loan processing, ensuring efficient funding delivery to borrowers.

Kim takes particular pride in Highland Bank’s consistent top performance among medium-sized banks, a distinction achieved shortly after reaching its current asset size. This success reflects Kim’s strategic leadership, educational approach with her team and clients and unwavering commitment to excellence. Under Kim’s direction, Highland has helped fund strategic acquisitions that include leveraged buyouts as well as working capital lines of credit, new equipment and commercial real estate loans. Staying abreast of program changes and opportunities arms Highland with the expertise to match programs and loan structures that best suit a client’s unique needs.

Involvement in the industry has been instrumental for Kim to keep pace with the ever-changing government guaranteed programs. She serves on the board of directors for Amplio (fka Spedco) and is a long-time member of the National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders (NAGGL). Additionally, she volunteers as a panelist with Thrive Emerging Leaders and is on the planning committee of the annual MN Small Business Lenders Conference. Recognized for her contributions to Highland Bank and the industry, Kim is a past recipient of Minnesota’s “Top Women in Finance” honors.

When it’s time to unplug and refuel, Kim can be found at her cabin in the Brainerd Lakes area, hiking on the North Shore or pursuing her passion of traveling to far-off places.
