Barry Sorensen

Barry Sorensen is a dedicated Commercial Banker who partners with lower middle-market businesses throughout the Twin Cities. He specializes in providing financing and cash management services, catering to needs ranging from business acquisitions to commercial and industrial operating loans and commercial real estate transactions. Barry’s expertise encompasses both conventional and SBA loan program financing, leveraging Highland Bank’s SBA Preferred Lender status to expedite approval times and streamline processes for his clients. He works diligently to craft customized solutions that prioritize the best interests of his clients.

Barry holds a BA in Business and Finance from North Dakota State University. However, it’s his relationship-driven approach to banking that truly distinguishes him. With a keen focus on smart financing structures, Barry excels at understanding what matters most to his clients and advocating for their success. He firmly believes that a robust business environment fosters a strong community, and his dedication to serving both is evident in his work.

In addition to his professional commitments, Barry has served on the board of Hennepin Technical College and as a former chair of the North Hennepin Area Chamber of Commerce, demonstrating his active involvement in community development. Outside of work, Barry embodies the spirit of a true Minnesotan. He enjoys spending his Saturdays golfing, fishing, hunting, hiking or relaxing by the lake.
